Searching for fire

Searching for fire

On Friday 4th October the six-year-olds went to the Archaeological Museum in Branice as part of the project “Important inventions and discoveries of human beings.”

We were looking for answers to the question of the first important invention of human beings: fire. We learned how the first people kindled fire and we could observe different ways of making fire – with a flint, by a bow drill, and with torches. We also saw a mammoth tusk which had been excavated in the vicinity of Krakow, as well as the skeleton and the first primitive tools of our distant ancestor.

Then we had a bonfire and sausages in the open air, and that was a really special experience. For a moment we could feel like the first people!
